I have wool and synthetic rugs sitting on hardwood — can you clean those in place?

We'd rather not. Wet-cleaning a rug while it's lying on oak flooring traps moisture underneath, and that's how you get cupping, dark staining, or a rug that dries with an odor still in it. Wool holds a lot of water and needs controlled drying. The better route is taking the rug off the floor and cleaning it away from the house, then returning it once it's fully dry. If a rug is small and lightly soiled we'll talk through options, but for anything wool, silk-blend, or with dyes that could move, off-floor is the honest answer. We can clean wall-to-wall in the bedrooms the same visit and handle the rugs separately.

Usually yes, and it comes out better if you let it dry first. Let it harden, vacuum the loose crumbs off, and we'll extract the rest. Where it gets stubborn is light-colored carpet in older ranch homes where the same doorway gets tracked repeatedly over a rainy stretch. The fine particles work down toward the backing. We can generally get it back to acceptable, but a spot that's been ground in for several seasons may hold a faint shadow. We'll look at it and give you a straight read before we start.

You get a free estimate and a firm quote before any equipment comes off the truck, with no adjusting the number partway through. What moves the price: how many rooms and whether stairs are included, the carpet's condition and how long it's been since the last cleaning, grease-affected areas near a kitchen that need pre-treatment and dwell time, pet treatment if that's part of it, and whether area rugs are going out for off-floor cleaning versus wall-to-wall done in place. Multigenerational homes with heavy daily traffic often need more pre-treatment than square footage alone would suggest, and we'd rather account for that in the quote than surprise you. Condo and townhome jobs sometimes involve hose runs from a shared entry, and we'll factor that in when we look at the layout.
